6.8.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
I’m writing my last newsletter to you with mixed emotions. I’m remembering Pope Francis’ words that seem to have become a hallmark quotation for me this year, as I look to the past with gratitude, the present with passion, and the future with hope. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have served the Sacred Heart community these past two years, and hopeful about the school’s continuing success into the future.

Principal Gross is having a sensational time in Washington DC with the seventh and eighth graders. AND NOW A WORDS FROM MR. GROSS… My favorite thing is seeing our kids experience these icons and landmarks! A personal perk was to see the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, which was not yet completed last time I was in DC. The National Shrine was also very impressive.

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
The students, along with Mrs. Gibson and myself have been working diligently to bring you a wonderful Spring Sing for this evening. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we will enjoy performing it.
In Christ,
Patrick

5.18.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
Mrs. Maurer, in her most recent classroom newsletter, gives eloquent and accurate voice to a number of important topical concerns. Instead of my column this week, I have asked her permission to share her letter, schoolwide. Please read and consider. Thanks, and blessings,

5.11.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
Let me start this week by saying THANK YOU, on behalf of all of our teachers and staff, for the many thoughtful appreciations that came our way last week during Teacher Appreciation Week. Your kind notes, thoughtful gifts and treats were a welcome recognition of our truly exemplary teachers and the work they do.

5.4.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
Please read the letter from Father Ken, with an update about the principal search and transition plans in progress. For my part, though I will be leaving my position, I remain committed to Sacred Heart School’s ongoing success!

4.27.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
Today is Administrative Professionals Day, and I would like to take the opportunity to recognize and celebrate Mrs. Chris Sinclair, our school secretary, Mrs. Suzie Schweitzer, who in addition to her library duties serves in an executive support function for us, and Mrs. Terry Fry our bookkeeper and registrar. They handle a fast pace, often difficult and sensitive situations, and a heavy load–with professionalism and grace! Please join me in a prayer of thanksgiving for, and a heartfelt THANK YOU to Chris, Suzie, and Terry!

4.20.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family,
Along with Suzie Schweitzer and MaryJo Anderson, I was in Portland Friday participating in an Archdiocese-wide professional development event featuring the expertise of Fr. Nate Wills.

4.13.16 Newsletter

Dear Sacred Heart Family
Thanks to the many of you who have shared your encouragement and support as we gear up together now for a leadership transition at Sacred Heart. As I said in my announcement last week, my family has been so blessed to be a part of this special place, these past two years. My prayers, as we “look to the future with hope,” are for the community to embrace an outstanding new leader with the skill set, disposition, and energy to build on our work and take SHCS to the next level of excellence.

As a Catholic community, we are more focused on the liturgical calendar than the equinoxes. We continue to celebrate these 50 days of the Easter Season (“Alleluia! He Is Risen), and look forward to Pentecost Sunday on May 15,
