As I connect with you this week, I have just re-turned from leaving my oldest son, Jeshua, at his college dorm as a beginning freshman. (OSU: Go Beavers.) It was a bittersweet moment for my wife and me as parents, and both of us felt conflicting emotions: pride, worry, excitement. loss, and a few others that I’m not sure have names.

As of today, our enrollment numbers for next year are at 239 which is 6 students behind last year at this time. Over the past several years we have typically seen 20-30 additional registrations between now and the start of the new school year. Please spread the good news about Sacred Heart Catholic School!
As the school year approaches it’s end, I turn my attention to end-of-year duties while looking forward to the coming year’s needs. As with any job, these things must be balanced with the daily demands that are part of our work lives.
New Opportunity for our kids—Next Tuesday, May 20th we are privileged to have the Medford Public Works come to our site to present Public Works Day. The students in grades PreK-5th will rotate through different stations to learn about what our Public Works Department does for our city. The teachers received student activity booklets to help prepare the children to ask good questions.
There are 4 members of our School Advisory Council (SAC) who will finish their terms this year and thereby create openings for the coming year. SAC members serve for three-year terms and advise the Principal and Pastor in the areas of development, marketing, finance, hospitality and facilities;
Thank you…for your continued prayers and support for Mrs. Young. She is out of ICU and in her own room. She drank water and orange juice yesterday. She has been speaking in Spanish. The skull plate will be replaced tomorrow in surgery. She’s showing great improvement.
Awards were based on the rules and regulations and how involved the students were in the decore.
