SHCS welcomes all our families to our first annual Veterans Day Assembly. We will celebrate with poetry readings, prayers, homemade flags and more. Families are welcome to invite any relatives who are active duty, former or retired military to attend. We would love to be able to honor them. If any students have a relative who is not in the area, but would like to be recognized, please bring in a picture. Make sure you put your name on the back. See you there!
It has been such a fun and eventful month. We celebrated Our Lady of the Rosary with a Living Rosary led by our remarkable students. Our teachers had a day of professional development to dig deep into academic goals for the success of each individual students. We had a successful Maze-a-Thon and Jog-a Thon! The Newport Aquarium came to our school and gave an interactive presentation on whales. We celebrated the success of our students during Parent – Teacher Conferences. Plus, we spent a frightening fun evening together as a community at the Harvest Festival.
The excitement is growing for our Harvest Festival this Friday. You can still buy presale tickets till Friday after-noon or purchase tickets at gym on the night of the Festival. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who will be there on Friday night. We ap-preciate each and every one of you. Thank you to Misty Williams who has spent days working on the Harvest Festival
First of all, thank you so much for all your won-derful efforts for our Maze-A-thon and Jogathon! It takes many volunteers, many hours to pull off this endeavor! Don’t forget that we are collecting “Coats for Kids” at the school. You are welcome to bring in new or gently used coats to the front office. Thank you to everyone who has already donat-ed.
Just a reminder that there is no school (Preschool through 8th) on Friday. You get the day off! Guess what though kids, while you are enjoying a no-school day, your teachers will be in school learning new information. The SHCS Daycare will be open, please sign up in advance.

Dear Sacred Heart Families,
It does not seem possible that this is the last week in September. Time flies when you’re hav-ing fun! The students are really enjoying all the extra events that they get to do because they are making all the goals for jogathon. Tacky Clash Day was certainly a tacky clashy success and Crazy Hat Day was also special and creative. Just a reminder that we will have our third annual Fall Harvest Festival on October 26 from 6-8 PM in the gym.
You guys rocked the first week of Jog-a-Thon! I am blown away by the determination and compassion you have for SHCS! Thank you for supporting our school! Not only do we get to celebrate with a Tacky/Clash day, but each class gets to pick an addi-tional fun thing to do! How awesome!!!! Let’s do it again for week 2 and have a Crazy Hat day celebra-tion! Remember hats can be creative! One time I wore a lamp shade for Crazy Hat day so let’s meet our goal and think outside of the box!
Thank you to all of our grandparents who visited our school last Friday. It was a great celebration and such an honor to meet everyone. We had over 100 grandparents attend and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. I loved hearing the stories like, “When I attended school here this was 1st grade, or this was the chapel.” The history of our school is so much fun to hear. The teachers and I have been brainstorming ways to make next year’s Grandparents Day even better!
Our Back to School BBQ is set for Wednesday, September 12 from 5:30-7:00PM. Mrs. Sinclair has been sending out information on what sides we would be most appreciative for families to provide. The school will be providing hot dogs, hamburg-ers, veggie burgers, buns, condiments, lemonade and water. Don’t forget that during the BBQ we invite parents to visit teachers in the classroom from 6:30 –7:00 PM. I would love to see all our of Knight Family in attend-ance. The Back to School BBQ is one of my favorite events and this year the Knights of Columbus will be here!
