Extra Curricular Activities

Band

Sacred Heart Catholic School’s band program involves students from the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades playing woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments.  The band is separated into two groups (beginning and continuing) and both groups meet twice a week as early bird classes (7:15 AM).  Continuing students sometimes assist in teaching the beginning students.  Cecilia Borges has been working with the saxophone players.  We continue to expand the available instruments for students to play. Any band instruments you may want to donate to our school, please call the school office at 772-4105.  Thank you. The band program is under the direction of Don Meeker.

Chess Club

On Wednesdays from 2:15-3:00 beginning in October, the first 24 students will be on the Sacred Heart Chess Club.  The cost is $25.00 per student and parents are always welcome.  No experience necessary.

 Lego League

Sacred Heart Catholic School students have an opportunity to participate in a Tuesday Junior Lego League.  Students met after school from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM to build a variety of devices that incorporate concepts of design building and teamwork.  This is an engineering challenge program geared toward children ages 5 to 9.  Because of the limited amount of kits, only sixteen students are able to participate every trimester.

Lego League is under the direction of Sharon Levesque.
