August 18, 2020 Memo

“We decided to send our daughter to Sacred Heart because we wanted to give her the best possible education combined with a sense of community that comes with a smaller school. We have always been happy with this decision, but never more so than during Covid when we saw firsthand what an amazing job Sacred Heart did to provide students with a top notch distance learning program. The teachers and staff kept students engaged and we never worried that our daughter would fall behind during this unusual year.”

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

“O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will. Grant good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my affliction. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.”

I wanted to share with you that the teachers are getting ready for the first week of school. They are sending out their Zoom invitations so that we may start to build up our school community. Every teacher will be explaining how things will work for the first three weeks of school through Distance Learning. We have scheduled a resource pick up day for Kindergarten through Fifth grade for Thursday, August 27 from 8-10 AM. On Friday, August 28th, from 4-6 pm Middle school will have their resource pick up day. Every four weeks we will reassess if we have passed the metrics and let you know if we will be opening or doing person to person learning. Our Early Childhood Cole\Lloyd classes will be starting September 8th person to person. Again, this is because of our Emergency License.

Here is a link to the metrics for each week. At the top of the list is for the state of Oregon and then it goes into the various counties.

Here is the link for the Operational Blueprint for Reentry on our web page.

Here is the link for the Archdiocese Template for Reentry on our web page.

A lot more resources, posters and videos are available for parents on School Speak. Please be sure to look at this information so that everyone is well informed and knows what to do in various situations regarding COVID-19.

This is the last of our parent sessions. I want to thank all of you for attending. I will continue to send out weekly emails every Tuesday evening of any updates that have taken place. Thank you for being a part of the school community of Sacred Heart Catholic School.
