August 12, 2020

Dear parents and staff,

August 31, 2020 is our first instructional day of Distance Learning and it will continue until Friday, September 4, 2020.  Because our last week of metrics for August 23-29 will not be made public until Tuesday, September 1, 2020, we must include the metric results of 8/2/20 through 8/8/20.  These results indicate that we did not meet the metrics for the first of our three weeks before our first instructional day.

We will continue to provide parents with these important updates and changes on a weekly basis so that necessary plans can be made.

Teachers in grades kindergarten through eighth grade will be reaching out to the parents and students in their classes by email and setting up Zoom meetings during the week of August 17, 2020.  This will be a time for teachers to share how they will be teaching their classes during Distance Learning to address the needs of their students, provide necessary guidelines and procedures that will enable their classes to run smoothly and most importantly this will be a time for teachers to begin to create a greater sense of community among the parents and students within their class.   This will replace the August 27th – Meet the Teacher and Parent Orientation night that was scheduled for 5:30-6:30 PM.

Resource Pick Up Day
Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 8-10 AM for K-5th grade
Friday, August 28, 2020 from 4-6 PM for Middle School

On resource pick up day, parents are asked to drive onto the parking lot as if you were picking up your child/children at the end of the school day.  I have included a map of how this will work.  There will be tables set up for the different grade levels.

Early Childhood Cole and Early Childhood Lloyd will be able to open person to person starting Tuesday, September 8th through Friday, September 11.  More important information will be sent out by Mrs. Cole on Monday, August 17th.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support of Sacred Heart Catholic School during these uncertain times.
